Riley Deutsch

Riley joined the leadership team as President this July after volunteering with the organization since its inception. By day, he is a PhD student at Duke University studying Biomedical Engineering. When not working, he can be found trying new coffee shops, walking his dog, or exploring North Carolina. Riley loves the immediate impact and sense of community that Bull City Classrooms can foster on any given Saturday morning and is excited to help this organization flourish in the coming years.

Abby Butler

Abby Butler is currently the Teaching and Learning Coach at E.K. Powe Elementary School in Durham. She has been in education for 10 years in Nashville and North Carolina and knows firsthand the hard work it takes to have an organized, welcoming environment for students to learn in everyday. When Abby and her husband first volunteered with Bull City Classrooms at a volunteer event at their neighborhood school, she witnessed the power a community can have to support school/teacher tasks, which allows teachers to focus on their ultimate goal: the students. Abby serves as an advisor to the BCC board to help connect local schools and to provide insight on teacher and school needs.
